What if I have to cancel my appointment?
How long are sessions?
Do you take insurance?
With whom do you work?
I see couples, individuals, men, and women (ages 15 and up).
I work with engaged couples, couples experiencing marital problems, and post-marital issues with individual men and women.
I work with teens and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, and stress in their lives at home, work, or school.
I also work with parents on parenting issues.
What’s this therapy thing all about?
Therapy is a tool for helping you navigate your specific issues and struggles to the best of your ability. Don’t worry: We’ll start wherever you are, and we’ll work at your pace.
There are no judgments or criticisms. We’ll work through those issues and struggles that keep you from living a life of happiness and fulfillment with empathy and understanding.
People don’t come to therapy for laughter and comedy, but we will laugh from time to time. Life is serious, but it doesn’t hurt to recognize its eccentricities… and laugh!
What will we do in therapy?
I am active in the therapy room and will help you when you need it.
I will encourage you to process and develop insights into your truth(s).
I will ask questions and guide you toward a better understanding of your life.
I may suggest things you can do outside of the office (which you can do or not do at your discretion).
I will be a supportive, empathetic listener and make sure that you feel seen and heard!
In cases where additional support may be beneficial, such as a psychiatric evaluation, group therapy alongside individual sessions, or specialized medical attention, I’ll offer recommendations and assist with referrals as necessary. Please note that I don’t refer to general practitioners or internists.
What is your experience doing therapy?
I have specialized in pre-marital, marital, and post-marital counseling for 20 years.
I taught a pre-marital and marital class for 16 years and co-led a “Making Marriage Work” weekend for four years.
I taught parenting classes in the LAUSD, and co-lead an anger management group for men.
I’m hesitant about starting therapy. What should I do?
Call me, and let’s talk for a few minutes and see how it feels. Experiencing that connection with your therapist is vital to the outcome of your therapeutic journey.
Most things in life that are worth working for are not easy, and therapy is no different. But the payoff is definitely worth the work!
Are you funny?
People tell me I’m funny (or maybe that’s my interpretation of what they tell me).
But no, really… I am!! 🙂
What do you like to do outside of work?
I like comedy, movies, outdoor activities, and all commercial holidays.
You might also find me bingeing awesome TV shows, hanging with family, chilling and relaxing, and traveling.
I also enjoy salads, French fries, pizza, pasta, and ice cream. But coffee and lattes are my favorites!
